Tank wheel?

I found this at a US WW2 training base and I am pretty sure that it is a tank wheel (gear) but could someone I’d the type of tank, or guarantee that it is a tank wheel? It weighs about 100+ pounds.

You'll have to measure it's diameter, but it looks a lot like a differential gear, possibly from an old 2.5 ton M-35 AM General.

I think Icewing is right. I looks an axle gear from a very large differential. The splined hole is where it runs on the axle.

100+ pounds? You dug that up and carried it home? My god man, you are a beast.

Soak it in vinegar for a month.. the rust will fall off.

I agree! It is about 17 inches from top to bottom.

Here are some more pictures, the measuring tape is set at 26 inches, I was doing some more research and it kind of looks like a Sherman tank differential gear
