Target Confirmed!

Land Magnet & I have done loads of research & we have many crosses on our maps. This was one of them, thought to be Roman, so the advanced party (Land-Magnet & the trusty dog with a nose for the ancient) went field walking. The report came back with a small spread of Roman pottery shards. The reason we looked at this target was because it had a small thin wood which cut the site in two & we believed the wood to be only 20-25 years max, so it must have been planted on ploughed soil. The two fields split by the wood we will do after harvest but at least we could hit the wood.
Our intelligence was so good, Dad's first dig was a scrappy & my 2nd was one.
Only spent 2.5 hours in the wood, not too many cartridges but plenty of wire which held the tree's when they were young.
Debased (Billion) Silver Roman of Postumus & 5 scrappies. (only my 4th Silver this year)
Ancient Bronze slag but very shaped
Worked white stone - loom weight

This site is going to take some unpicking, its very spread out over 2 fields, but at least its a confirmed hit

But we are going to have a nightmare juggling them all after harvest. As you know, we need to spent huge amount of time on each but we will constantly be thinking that if they are not producing quickly enough (1 coin every 10 minutes) we should move to a more promising site

We were discussing this today & decided we were greedy
We could start several clubs & it still wouldn't touch our searchable land mass, thats why we need to get on target in the first place Land-magnet is our greatest asset, from a beginner last year to an expert hunter of sites, contacts & permissions (just needs more time with the detector & he will have a shocking collection). Sucked up lots of knowledge in a short period.

I said we may all do that field, 1 day next weekend, he said 'he won't want to do that'.... 'why' I said.....'because he might do 6 hours & get nothing'
