Tarn-X?

Someone tell me why this stuff is bad for coins? I dipped a badly tarnished and scratched mercury dime in it(no value), and I was amazed. It didn't seem to leave any trace of using it, and the coin looked great.
I'm sure someone can tell me why this ruins coins or everyone would be using it?

add to that real worn Silver dosn't look Shiny

What it does is actually remove the outer tarnished layer of silver, that is why it is left shiny. Collectors want original surfaces on their coins.

I used it on my daughters Morgan and it is still sparkly like in my avatar. I didn't submerge it though. I used a green scrubbing pad and wet it with the chemical and rubbed it in. Worked great because it was black before.
