Taxco/Mexican stuff can be very valuable, depends on the designer or style of the piece. I don't think the market will bear much more than you spent on that piece. That's the type of item I buy all day every day on half-off day. You can murder it on gold and silver at the thrift store on 50% off day. :)

I wouldn't have your problem. My wife or daughter would claim it as theirs. Nice Piece! I probably would have bought it too.

I did a bit better today. Picked up this necklace for $10. The pendant is sterling, the chain is 14k white gold, 2.5 grams.

If you ever go to Mexico City, have a taxi driver take you to Ciudadela, the market for artisan stuff at local prices, not tourist prices. You can buy all the Taxco jewelry you want. Been there; did that.

Of course, you could also go to Taxco. :D
