Can you help identify if this is a fossil? I'm a newbie (to rocks) and can trade my knowledge of coin varieties (?)

No, I don't think they are teeth either. The rock itself looks like a lighter colored granite and the "teeth" are worn down quartz crystals.

No, pretty sure it’s quartz but If you want to test to find out for sure, get a piece of hematite. Hematite will scratch tooth enamel but won’t touch the quartz, the quartz instead will scratch the hematite. Hematite is 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, quartz is 7, tooth enamel is 5.
