tejon 5.75" coil or the compadre 5.75 coil?

if what i.m reading is correct on this site, that once you have bought a tejon, you should also purchase a 5.75" coil and throw the old one away.why don't you just buy a compadre which has a hard wired coil on it,or is the tejon more powerfull in detecting targets.how deep do you want to go?my compadre finds stuff that a day before my vaquero missed.most of the old coins i find down deep have no value other than historical.big deal! i like money in the bank now!! i'm not one for sitting on my front stoop/porch in my rocking chair trying to figure how it got there.time is running out for me.i haven't found my eldorado or cibola yet!!! not like you all? hh blowfly

If you are just looking for clad, etc. stock coils will do just fine. If you are in trashier areas or areas that are overgrown, then the 5.75 coil is good. As far as historical or just collecting, that is a personal choice and what makes this hobby great, is that there are so many ways to do it. Good luck
