Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I headed out to a new site this morning but when I arrived I determined it that was a little too wet to detect. I went back to a site that I've previously detected to see what I missed. I worked my tail off before finally managing to corner a couple silver coins. The Mercury Dime was about an inch or so deep. You just never know.

My settings: Sensitivity 70, 4 Tones, 0 Discrimination and I was using the NEL Sharpshooter search coil.

Nice.
That old silver is always a beautiful sight.

That Omega is a pretty sight too. Teknetics rocks.

Thanks. I've found plenty of silver with the Omega. It has one of the best thought out screen display and control panel layouts tha I've ever used. In low to moderate EMI areas its hard to beat when it comes to cherry picking silver coins.

Right now I'm comparing it to the Omega 8500. So far I like both for different reasons. With my limited use and testing of the Omega 8500, I'd probably pick it over my Omega 8000 version 5 if I had just one detector to use. I know I would if it was my older Omega version 4.

The 8500 works great, but I'm not really found of the 'chipped' high conductor audio ID tone. It's a little too digital for my Tesoro ears. On the other hand it has a lot of great features and does a much better job handling EMI.

Right now I'm up in the air as to which one I should sell. Neither one can across the board outdo my F75-DST, but it cost a lot more, so that's not a fair comparison.
