I'm looking for a decent used or refurbed 5"DD or 11"DD coil. Also, I cannot locate the serial number inside the battery compartment. Any idea as to find out what the serial number is without it? Love the detector with the standard 10" coil, but looking to get the 5" cause a few places I hunt are quite trashy.

I have not found my serial #either....all you need is your Bill of Sale for Factory Warranty work.
Both of the coils you are looking for 5 &10 DD are very popular ...but see them for sale on here from time to time .

Settings on your 8000? I just got mine so I may be way off. Tone is default. Sen is 91. Dis is 54. It kinda freaks on the zink penny's, really freaks out when they are really corroded. Just now starting to get the hang of it "I think" but the places I hunt hunt are REALLY trashy. Lots of overloads in trashy places.

I don't use my DD coin in trashy areas, The concentric coil seems to work better, I went back to a very trashy road I hunted the day before with the DD and picked up 2 wheats and a small pendent, The DD coil just seems to get overloaded in thoes areas . The gamma in a way is like my fisher, very sensative, I turn mine back,,
