All metal mode goes the deepest, but if you are wanting to not hear some targets, you will have to use discrimination.

Thanks for reply .and how deep it go in all metal mode with 15,, coil

It depends on how big the target is... Install the large coil, turn on the detector and walk towards your vehicle, see how close it has to get before it starts to beep on your vehicle.

Generally speaking, the larger the coil, the deeper it will detect larger targets and the less sensitive it will be to smaller targets.

you will need to learn the machine. Generally 100 hours is the minimum.nails are iron and birdshot is made of lead so you can discriminate TYPES of different metals not really size. The T2 is a powerful machine. In the beginning just dig everything and you will soon learn what VDI and audio response equates to what target. The big coils can be heavy and not as well balanced as the smaller coils. it is alot to learn in the beginning but dont give up! all the best Chub

Can't tell you much about the aftermarket coils, but I think you will like the T2. Be sure to register it and keep the receipt in case you ever have to send it in. Good luck!
