Relic Hunting
Josh and I returned to the newly discovered U.S. Picket Camp site. Doug couldn’t make it today. The bullets have mostly been .54 cal. 3 ringers so far. There were WW2 maneuvers in the site as well. We feel this is a picket camp since no cooking related relics have been recovered that we normally find in full use camps. I made 2 solo trips to the camp on Thursday & Friday as shown by the relics in the first 2 pics. I dug the carved “Honeycomb” bullet on 2-13. My total finds from this week (minus the rosette & 3 of the .69 cal. 3 ringers that I dug on a nearby farm last spring) are shown on the red background. The last pic is of our finds on the Modern Miner Relic Rag from our 3 hour afternoon hunt today. Josh dug 3 eagle buttons & my best find was the brass scabbard tip. HH from Josh & Quindy & enjoy the video that is dedicated to Thrillatahunt as he enjoys our adventures.

Some real nice Digs Quindy, Congrats to Josh and You . From us poor suckers buried in the snow in the Northeast :laughing7:

My father was stationed at Camp Pickett during WW2. I was attending a military conference there in the early 80's. I was detecting around a lot of the old WW2 barracks and found quite a few old coins but no civil war stuff. Wish I was looking for it but was more interested in coin hunting. Nice finds.

great hunt guys enjoyed the film maby ill get on some bullets or somthing soon lol

Vey Nice Duo of the Trio. You guys are relic hunting machines. I counted 19 drops? Wow! Plus 3 buttons and scabbard tip. Most excellent hunt… again! Congratulations.

Awseome hunt Guys. Looks like another productive spot Q. You are on a roll lately, and I don't mean a dinner roll. :tongue3:
Congrats to Josh on the three eagle buttons. Does that mean 3 lunches he has to buy?
What's up with the bullet in the picture in the top row right that looks like a propeller?
Is the 3-ringer on the bottom left corner of the orange relic rag 1/2 melted? Way cool!
Thanks for the video Q. I'd like to request "Yankee Doodle Dandy" for your next video. :occasion14:

Thanks for sharing...

OMG, I'll do anything to find some finds like these. Y'all did great!!

I like the looks of that place! It was really nice of Dman to leave those buttons for Josh, not every one would do that. I still haven't figured out what that brass piece is. Look forward to our next hunt!

Oh, Q, you really know how to get to a gal. I LOVE the Gone With The Wind theme song. Actually, I named my car Ms. Scarlett, which I thought was fittin' for a red, powerful one.8-) The relics are great finds! I know Dman is sending out 'you're welcomes' to Josh! LOL I keep saying you're going to have to re-enforce your floor to hold all the LEAD!

:)

Well DUG, the "propeeler' lead is a bullet a soldier cut part of the way down and thrown in the fire and melted into that shape. Weird huh? Josh kept that one on the bottom left because only the back side of the bullet melted. i'll put a Yankee song just for you in the next video. Good luck hunting this week Bud, Q.
