Tesoro Coil info

Can't say very much about the larger coil, except I hear they are out there..The 5.75 wide scan coil, assuming that your Tejon is hotter than a Vaquero, will give you 6 to 7 inches on a dime. This is less than the concentric coil gives.. If you are covering a large area, why not consider the 3 by 18 "Clean Sweep" coil. If you set your Tejon up with Disc below nickel, threshold maxed and sensitivity right on ten, do an in air Indian cent and nickel, I can back my numbers off to tell you about what you can expect in mild soil...Sorry I could not answer your question as asked .....

Hi Hurckman, You may want to think also about the 5X10 elliptical DD (Widescan) for your Tejon. I am sure it would be lighter than the larger Elliptical, and also better in the trashier areas. Same coil that comes on the Lobo. I got a 5X10 for my Tejon and have only had time to try it a couple of times but it seems to do a pretty good job. Don't hear of many of them being used but most of those using them really like them. Some say they are not quite as deep as the standard 8X9 Con. or the 5.75 Con., but I got as much depth from mine as I would want and also found a really rare button from the same ground I had pounded with my Tejon with the 9x8 and 5.75. They mostly come with the LONG CABLE, but you can get the "Short" cable. The longer cable would be for hipmounting (Lobo) and there seems to be mostly Long cable ones on hand that would need to be shortened for Tejon.Be sure you specify "Short" if you wish since you likely will not want the extra weight on the Tejon. All that just in case you may be interested. I think the 5X10 may be going unnoticed more than just a little because of the always present pursuit of "depth," when that ain't always what it's about . Hope this helps! HH, Cass

Anyone tell me if the 10x12 Double D widescan is any good on coins I want to put it on a tejon or am I better off with the hot 5.75 widescan? Feedback Please.

That Eliptical coil kicks coin baby! Great depth and sensitivity. - Terry
