Will this fit the Silver uMax? If so Can I get one from you? Joe

I'm curious as to what reason a coil steady is needed/wanted on a Tesoro. I have been swinging Tesoros for 25 years or more and the thought never intered my mind. My only concern with a coil has been in whatever way I may lighten it up some, like shedding the coil cover on some of the ones I use. Adding weight, I would think, would be done only to cure some serious ailment/need, and I am just more than a little curious as to what it is that I may be missing out on?

Yea IM curious too..... what am I missing out on here... although when I think about it... it does kinda sound like a good idea... maybe someone could enlighten me on this upgrade.

Thanks

Vince.

I have never needed a coil steady don't under stand either i always just tightened up the nut & bolt holding the coil. My buddy would just add a washer if needed. But i never needed that either???????????????????????????? Used every different brand of detector and a lot of different models Never needed one...........??????????/ AND i have been swinging detectors 28 years.......

By looking at the picture of the kit.... it looks like the main part holds the coil in place from more than just the stock pivot point. Now I agree... just tighten up the bolt/nut or add rubber washers at the pivot point and there you go ... but for some reason it seems it may be (the coil) more stable if its fastened from 2 points instead of just one... I dont know I may be way off .. but that is just what the kit looks like it does..

if it isnt too $$ I would give it a try... just to see... heh.. ya never know.

One thing you will know, is the feel of the added weight, and for no useful purpose.?? Remove your coil cover and you will plainly feel the difference.

It does serve a purpose. It keeps the coil positioned when you're hunting areas likely to bump and move your coil. Brushy areas and hillsides.....

Some detectors need coil steady in the surf. the Whites Beach Hunter ID needed it bad, but that coil floated. None of my Excals or Sovereigns need them in the water.....
