Hello everybody!

I have a Tesoro sandshark and it has worked great so far. However, if something happens to it, I figure there's no one to fix it. You guys think it would be worth it to just sell it? What would you do?

Thanks for any help!

I thought the group determined there were several places that would repair it?

I have four Whites machines I am happy with. I could sell them and maybe have enough to but a new one that I may not like.

I ended up buying a new Sand Shark last year even though I knew Tesoro was defunct... got the dealer's last one with the 8" coil. I knew it was a bit of a risk repair-wise, but the Shark is well built and I really like Tesoros. If I take good care of it, I expect it will take good care of me. :-)

On a related note, a shout-out to Terry for the great video on Sand Shark maintenance.

I'd keep it. Thre are folks coming down the pike who will fix them. The electronics from what I understand are fairly easy to contend with. From what I understand.

I'd keep the shark.. Especially if it is working fine and continuing to pay for itself.

Thanks for the input guys!

Straight up honest, my wife and I have not been detecting for a while. Simply life and stuff has limited hunting.

Was sad to read Tesoro had gone out of business.

We have two Sand Sharks, both have been great and hopefully will continue for a long time. Both of ours are the models that were just prior to the latest version with the different connector setup.

I also have a late model Tejon.

Hopefully there will be service if needed.
