Was out digging at local spot that has had a handful of coils over it and got a lucky leftover....REALLY lucky from what I have gathered so far. The back mark is "Waterbury Button Co." and I believe is 1840s-1860s...? I know these TEXAS buttons are rare and its not something I was ever expecting to dig here in Charleston. I didn't even realize what I had until a buddy pointed it out via text (Thanks Allen!). It immediately came back to me that I had in fact seen these buttons posted before here on T-Net. I don't often post my finds but I though this one should be shared. I think this has the potential to be my most valuable find ever!!?? If anyone can help with advice on how to go about getting it appraised I would greatly appreciate it!!

Thanks for looking and HH to all

The Waterbury Button Company is up in Connecticut, so definitely made before the civil war. And obviously some Texan lost it in the Civil War, or is buried nearby or something. Really incredible in that it is both a Wild West frontier find and a Civil War find.

No problem Darrin you know that you have always been more than welcome to come to my spots and pick all the cherries out. :laughing7:. Seriously that is an excellent button find for the LC or anywhere. Congratulations brother and I am keeping score.

Sweet button!! Congrats!

Thanks Old Pueblo! Make it a 12 pack and let's talk.

Thanks Allen, since every spot in the LC is yours I credit all my finds to you. Don't worry though, you get all the Slave Tags! LOL

That is one sweet button. Makes ya' wonder what stories these old relics could tell. Find a nice place of honor for that one.

Not every spot just the ones that your best finds come from.:laughing7:
And remember I left a Slave Tag at the same TEXAS spot for several months just for you but you NEVER would dig it so I dug it myself.
Still amazed as many times it's been hunted that sniper coil did the job.

That button is in pristine condition.
Congratulations
