Had the privilege of detecting the site of a Texas oil boom town this weekend that is long gone and almost no ruins remain. What was once a town of nearly 20k people, all the buildings and oil wells are gone.
The 4 highlights of my finds are:
Brass dial frame from a 1932 Crosley model 159 tombstone radio (radio image for reference)
Brass slide (for a belt?) With a "K" (any ideas from anyone?)
1916-S Barber dime
25 cent token from a Weatherford, TX grocery store. I have not seen this token before. The best part was that the signal was in the depression of a horse print. At some point, a horse had stepped directly down onto the token and bent it!
I love reading the land and hunting a ghost town, finding the old road beds in the woods can sometimes be a challange. But once you find them and know exactly where to hunt, the pieces fall together.
