SWEET finds man! Cant validate the CW stuff - but - well done.

My dog said it looks like virgin plush carpet and is now looking for a good place to pee on it.
He wasnt interested in the stuff on the floor.

I certainly am though!

Wish I could help with ID!
Looks like some great finds!

Great stuff! Your button front is likely from the NY militia, perhaps a bit earlier than civil war, but even with a book in front of me I can't nail down which variety. :P

It is definitely an Officers Button from New York.............Congratulations!

Here is a link to where I found three very similar buttons. They range in price from $350 to $40. I have included the picture and description to the $350 one here. You can check them all out here:

They are about halfway down the page.

Ultra rare dug New York Officers'.button with rose gilt. "Scovill Mg Co/Waterbury" Early mark with small letters around outside edge of button. Great button!

Hey nice New York staff Officers button! 8) I hope you remember where you dug it, if so please go back and find the back to it, once you have the back piece you can get it restored with a new ring that holds the two pieces together.

Steve

That is one neat button, definately one for the display case! Congrats

Thank's everyone for all the good info. :D ;D

awesome button I have found 3 of them now exactly like yours, all three were found at 100+ yr old farm houses, here is one of them.......

Great finds keep up the good work.

Fantastic finds! Unfortunately without a back, you will never be able to get a positive ID on the NY Militia Button.

I bet there are more waiting to be found at the site!

Congrats!
