Thanksgiving Day

I don't know that there is a traditional Thanksgiving song.

Lonesome Electric Turkey :tongue3:

For me, its Happy Birthday ! Otherwise, I don't think there is a traditional Thanksgiving song. How about "Another one (turkey) bites the dust" by Queen.

"Red Wine" by UB40! Goes straight to my head! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

You all blow it. You all should had google it. ALICE RESTAURANT.

My brother-in-law and I listen to it every year together. We mix some drinks and sit on the "Group W Bench" aka, my couch, and sing long in front of the kids.

Alice's Restaurant. Not what I consider a traditional Thanksgiving song, but, yes, Google does place it on the list. Not sure it's really all that great of a song, but it does bring back some good memories!

I don’t know which grates on me more, Alice’s Restaurant or American Pie.

People donate more then 100 k to Alice who the song was written about. She sure can use the money.

"Alice's Restaurant" is about a group of stoners who dumped trash on public land and were arrested for littering. "American Pie" is about the day Buddy Holly died. You have to know the meaning behind the lyrics of "American Pie" to appreciate it...

I’ve heard all the different meanings over the years, but that’s not why...it was having to hear it every other song day after day, I was 10 when American Pie came out. Us kids would rollerskate Friday nites back in early 70’s at our school and they played that song week after week, sometimes twice per night!

Third and fourth on my list: Freebird and Stairway to Heaven...sorry Tim (and I’m a Zep fan)

Alice's Restaurant :tongue3: years ago I used to like the song, last time I listened to it was a few months ago. for a refresher.
was planning on posting it here. after listening,, I'm
not sure why I liked it, I can only Guess :dontknow: sort of lame now.

I bought the movie on vhs many moons ago , pre cable here, only antenna then.
so it was the only way I could get to see it..
was not good enough to watch twice, ended up selling it.

I will agree with you on "Stairway to Heaven". Amazing song, but played to death on the radio stations. I still like "Free Bird" because it keeps the memory of Ronnie Van Zant alive. But my favorite song by Skynyrd is "Tuesday's Gone". The live version with the harmonica added makes it a great song.

”What’s your name” still my favorite.
