These were in my yard today. 78 degrees the next 2 days. I’m hoping they “pop” soon.

They don't grow around here in Colorado ☹️ but I enjoyed finding them when I lived in Iowa. They're so good

Great problem to have! 😀
I remember my dad would take me along in the car with his friends to hunt shrooms. We'd go to an area SW of Des Moines towards Winterset, Iowa if I recall correctly. It was a great place to find them and you would see on the dirt roads by a farmyard mailbox a small round gaviniezed wash tub filled with morels with a sign that would say Help yourself to some.

Went out today and no luck with morels... did find these red mushrooms and have no idea what they are. Better luck next hike.

Looks like Scarlet Elf Cup. Supposedly edible, but I wouldn't recommend trying it.

I'd like mine like your recipe EXCEPT instead of crushed saltines I'd like seasoned flour and fry them in bacon or sausage) with limited) left over grease and scrambled eggs and hot coffee and a long nap afterwards. :coffee2:

Never know what you’ll find morel hunting out there… a couple seasons ago I found this guy that looked completely dead. Splinted his broken leg, nursed him back to health best I could and got him to a wildlife center.
