Was walking through the parking lot at work, looked down and saw what I thought to be a quarter. Picked it up and put it in my pocket, went on about my day. Got home and yeah, not a quarter:

Cannot complain about that, though think I technically should've turned it in since its $1...

Good eye, Rosco. It doesn't look like it was damaged any from being on the parking lot. FYI, there are variations, having to do with the thickness of the rim and the space between date and rim. if interested, search SBA dollar "near date" and "far date".

just got 2 more "close date" in a CWR from a bank. total now about 45. sold a few for $5 to 7. there are also die crack and greaser SBA's--- they fetch $4 to 6.

thats what us old folk used to call a Susan B.

Why should you have turned it in " technically " ?

Spare change isn't an issue, but anything $1 and over should be turned in in case someone claims...

Believe me, no one is going to ask if anyone found a dollar in the parking lot!
