Relic Hunting
I went back to the 69 pit at first light this morning. I worked the pit for a couple hours and then started gridding out from it. I hit another hot spot 18 paces from the center of the 69 pit. There was a lot less but more variety. The sun got too hot and I ran out of water so I quit at noon. I'll be headed back tomorrow.

Nice finds - you should frame them just like the way you have them displayed JDug. Thanks for sharing...

Thanks, I usually display my bullets with my other relics but this camp just has too much to do that. I'm just putting them in mason jars after our relic club meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month.

Thanks. Ya when it gets hot enough that I'm basically dependent on water it goes fast and when it's gone I'M DONE.

Love those Big 69's!

Excellent! I recall the very first 69 I dug and how amazed I was at the weight and size. I'd hate to get hit by one of those monsters.

Thank you sir. Ya they are serious widow makers.

Thank you Mr. Etrac . I thought I was the only one with 2 identical machines. I have 2 CTX's. I ran cross a deal on a demo and couldn't refuse.

LOL! Nothing wrong with having two identical machines! In my case the second Etrac is for my son... He was hunting with an Ace 250 and it was sooooo unfair it bothered me! So I saved some $$$ and bought the last Irish Etrac my dealer had in stock for him to hunt with. :)
He then went out and found a rare 1798 "over 7" large cent with it a few years back. :hello2:

Were you finding these with the CTX? If so, at what depth and how did they sound? I've never dug any with the Etrac because the only place I have to hunt those is in that hot VA dirt...thus the reason for the GPX as you undoubtedly know.

I got ya, I pretty much feel the same way when I take my daughter or wife. I want them to have a good detector and do well.
Ya the CTX is my go to machine on a daily basis , weather and work permitting, unless I'm on hot ground like you said.
