The Benefits of CRHing:

1. We are one of the most socially accepted group of individuals. We can talk to ANY strange opposite sex tellers with a sweet smile and melt their poker face.

2. We are a sophisticated group of savvy speakers. We can deflect any direct inquiries about CRHing with ease. We can be lawyers.

3. We build big arms. If you are like me who carries 2 halve boxes (50lbs) on one side, you will notice your forearm get thicker in 4 months (How long I have been)

4. We are one of the most hard working group in America. Who else would religiously do the same repetition of Picking/Dumping days after days, weekly weekly. Not even ants can top us (they don’t work in the winter, we do.)

5. We become numismatics. We process superior knowledge compared to ordinary Johns and Janes.

6. We keep the American history alive by collecting and preserving the coinages of America.

7. We also profit. In our minds. Dear IRS, we spend the coins at face value only. :icon_thumleft:

There, the benefits of CRHing.

Feel free to add yours. :icon_thumright:

It is numismatist. Numismatics is the study of collecting coins (tokens, medals, paper money).

And I'd have to disagree with this basic premise. A numismatist would never call a cent a penny.

I typed it in a hurry. Numismatist is right. If you read my post with a light heart, you could see half of it was meant to be a laugh.

guess the world is bitter. I faced some d-bags this morning. ruined my day.

I thought it was numismaniac :read2:

Good post topic!

I'll add to this.

My 8 year old son:
1) is learning the value of money, and how to use his savings to make more money
2) is learning the value of eye contact, courtesy and manners when speaking to all the tellers (he had a tumor taken out of his leg this fall and got numerous get-well cards from "his" tellers, and lots of them call HIM on the phone when they get halves, i.e. the importance of phone manners)
3) is learning about the hobby of coin collecting. (halves are his favorite but he has also filled up all his quarter books, except for the National Park book - still working on that one)
4) spends a lot of Fridays after school hitting banks and riding around with his Dad (me) talking about coins and life in general (and we rock out with loud music when we find silver)
5) is learning about history - he took his Ike collection to show and tell and got a nice note home from the teacher about how well he did, and how impressed she was that he knew so much about who Eisenhower was, even before he was president
6) has learned that certain things are best kept "close to the chest" - he knows that if he tells his friends about his silver hunting that he will only get more competition
7) has a lollipop stash that would be the envy of any kid! :laughing7: :laughing7:

Wishing all of you CRH success in 2012!
