The best start to a rugby match I've seen in a while

I have seen the All Blacks play at Twickenham a few times now and the Haka always gets a good cheer, very atmospheric. But I've never seen a double haka live. And for all my good mates across the pond 1.) rugby is like American football but without all the padding. 2.) The Haka can be a welcome as well as challenge.
Anyway, enjoy the vids

Ever wonder how many players never make the team because they can't learn the moves properly? The white guys always take it more seriously. I find it funny, but inspiring at the same time. :)

What part of it is like American football? Nothing like any American football I have seen. Monty

Re: The best start to a rugby match I've seen in a while

OK, I shall try to explain :laughing7:

The name "All Blacks" is because the original New Zealand rugby kit was all black, any Kiwi's out there feel free to join in.
The similarity to American football is due to the ball being oval and the use of hands, as opposed to soccer
The Haka can be a greating or a warning. It was used by Maories, Tongans, Samoans and other peoples of that part of the world to warn neihbouring tribes etc. from invading their territories, or to great peaceable friends. This is the current All Black haka

"Kapa o Pango" Kapa o Pango kia whakawhenua au i ahau! All Blacks, let me become one with the land
Hī aue, hī!
Ko Aotearoa e ngunguru nei! This is our land that rumbles
Au, au, aue hā! It’s my time! It’s my moment!
Ko Kapa o Pango e ngunguru nei! This defines us as the All Blacks
Au, au, aue hā! It’s my time! It’s my moment!
I āhahā!
Ka tū te ihiihi Our dominance
Ka tū te wanawana Our supremacy will triumph
Ki runga ki te rangi e tū iho nei, tū iho nei, hī! And be placed on high
Ponga rā! Silver fern!
Kapa o Pango, aue hī! All Blacks!
Ponga rā! Silver fern!
Kapa o Pango, aue hī, hā! All Blacks!

I tried to copy and paste it, but it came out as gobbble-de-gook everytime, so, with the help of alt codes I typed it. Even then, the spacing went a bit wonky :dontknow:, maybe something to do with the strange letters :laughing7:

Re: The best start to a rugby match I've seen in a while

A proper mans game! ;D

Doesn't everyone remember that last kick?

25 seconds of extra time (overtime) left of the world cup final, Australia huge favourites to win on home soil in Sydney, days of Aussie taunting.."England are too old...too boring...too reliant on Wilkinson"!
Well yes we were...and now you know why!
Wilkinson...*punt*....game over, England world champions, thank you and goodnight!!! :headbang: :hello2: :headbang:

If anyone ever wants to see a whole continent go totally silent (apart from the English fans there lol)...watch that game!
