It is said to be the bible of American button identification. 800+ pages. It was printed in 1981 and reprinted in 1991 and again in 1993. Copiously illustrated in colour and black and white throughout. Copies are hard to find and cost $350-700.
I am wondering how helpful this book is at identifying buttons. Has anyone seen, or have, a copy that can comment on it's usefulness? It is being updated and reprinted in two volumes and with an ETA of February/March 2009.
Is there a similar book or site for the Colonial flat buttons we find in the U.S. that were not made here?
Thanks for any help.
