.....a young'un, don't know if it's a girl or boy? Was able to take lots of pic's because it is young & still pretty fearless. I first saw it out the window in the back, trying to eat the garden hose..:laughing7:....guess thought it was a tasty snake, like mama use to bring? These birds are rare in the USA & declining, so lucky to have this entertaining visitor. Hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I have....

...these first 3 pictures are bad, was so nervous that he would leave...the third one I took peeking out the window through screen & he saw me.

Boy! those are some very awesome shots CK, You have so many ornithological opportunities. Is this all around where you live? Looks like he/she? whats to be your friend?
 
Thanks tamrock...birds do come here to summer & nest for some reason, guess it's all around the area.? The young B. H. will be semi "friendly" until he learns better.:wink:
 
Looks like in pics 8, 14 he sees you and in 15 starts talking...
 
Great pictures, Kat! Yep, the one where it's looking right at you with its beak open, #15, it almost looks ferocious!

Hi :) old digger.....yeah guess I'm the :icon_cyclops_ani:....no wonder the birds fly away most of the time! And like you say, they do have such super eyesight, it must look like that.....sorry little birdies. ;)
