So my wife and I went to a church tag sale on Saturday that is an annual event. This one has always been a good one but this year takes the cake! Here is a list of our plundered treasures! ☠

1960's Tonka truck- $4.00

Large hoop earrings-$1.00 ( 0.47 ozt)

Small sterling earrings and small 14k earrings- $1.00. (0.6g for the 14k pair)

Large Mexico sterling cross and chain with turquoise and lapis lazuli - $6.00. ( 0.91 ozt)

A very large sterling Celtic cross and chain with bloodstone - $6.00 (1.625 ozt). Made by Stephen Walker in NY.

And the piece de resistance: A 14k bracelet with diamonds and sapphires. Diamonds set in platinum. - $10.00. ( 6.3g )

It was a great start to our 2016 YS season and all of this for $28.00!!

Wow!!!! What a plunder it was!

Thanks!! We thought so too. Not a ton of gold but we were pretty happy and it made our day. The bracelet is really nice and my wife may want to keep it, which I'm totally fine with. Anytime we can find good gold jewelry she likes for pennies on the dollar makes us both happy. I think they thought it was sterling. The 585 looks like 925 if you look to quickly or without a loop. They had it marked for $20 and said that all the jewelry was half off. I would have paid the $20 for it but since there was a " half off sale" I saved ten bucks! Actually I saved $22 because the two crosses were $12 each and they were marked down too! ☠

That cross is a real find. Everybody knows turquoise is a big seller, but I find Lapis to be a big one too, along with amethyst. The size and weight of that cross tells me you should be able to get 27-54 bucks (my rule of thumb for Mexican sterling is to sell for no less than $1 per gram, but for this cross I would try for $2 per gram). I have found crosses to also be a good seller, so the combo is great. I'd have snatched that in a second.

Edit: I was referring to the Mexican cross exclusively here.

The Celtic cross retails on line from the makers website for $230 and the chain it came with for $90. I know I'll never get retail but I'm thinking a good $100 bill will do.

I'd at least ask half retail, with OBO. That's a nice pick too!

Good point! I hadn't really thought about it too seriously as I won't be having my sale until June. My wife has rich Irish heritage so it might just become a keeper! I'm good with that.

very good start
