I was working at a house yesterday and asked the woman about this model. Her late husband had built it over 3 years. The Charles W. Morgan is a whaling ship. https://www.mysticseaport.org/explore/morgan/

Hello Gene Mean

Cool discovery amigo. And very interesting history as it confirms visits by whaling vessels seeking water on Cocos island.

Charles W. Morgan whale ship was a successful whaler that sailed all over the Pacific. There is a rock with the name of a ship down the bottom called Charles W. Morgan carved into it dated JULY 1843, On Cocos island the fabled island of buried pirate treasure.

The crew came ashore in Chapman bay when they saw a mysterious brig anchored in the bay leave. It was believed this mystery vessel was "Gauntlet" a vessel from Newfoundland searching for pirate treasure.

Here is a part of the log Charles W. Morgan that mentions a small brig bottom page.

Here is the rock below with other ship vists. but down the bottom we have Charles W. Morgan July 1843.
