Re: The CTH4 hunt will be held September 3,4 & 5th in Caldwell.
I've only tried boiled peanuts once and didn't care much for them. They were kinda' slimey if I remember right, much like boiled okra. But I love okra and have eaten it raw as a snack! My favorite food is a big medium rare prime rib steak au jus. But I can't find a decent one around here. The last really good one I had was in a restaurant called The Dodge House in Dodge City, Kansas. But that was several years ago. My second favorite is pork chops, fried, boiled, broiled or baked just so they are well done, just cooked until the pink is gone. Too many people cook them too long and make them into shoe leather. Third favorite is sea food or fresh fish as in channel cat in the about 5 to 8 lb weight. I was just kidding about the big cat fish. I have caught a lot of big flat heads, but the smaller ones are better eating I must confess. I also like crappie fried crisp with hush puppies. But any frewh water fish must be cooked right out of the water to maintain their true flavor. That commercial grade cat fish you buy frozen at the super market don't really have that fresh fish taste. And in case anyone is wondering, I am a pretty good cook as long as it is down home cooking and I can cook just about anything including cornbread and beans if I am a mind to. Ask Stan about the mock apple pie I made for him last year. I was just funning you guys so I hope you don't take offense at anything I said previously. Monty
