"The desert wand"

I've been searching all over the internet and YouTube looking to find a homemade coil like the one I drew up in the picture. I've been wanting a machine like this for larger nugget hunting for a while now. But I know nothing about coils when it comes to the science; frequencies, current, reading magnetic fields. I can build it, I just don't know electrical. Have any of you seen a coil (wand) like this? It doesn't necessarily have to plug into a bought metal detector. But I know there has to be a simple diy detector where I can make a coil like this for
