Congrats! My biggest tip is not to use 18 kHz for a while..stick with 8 and 12....you will dig too much junk and get frustrated in 18 at first, enjoy and good luck!

If it does not already have it pre-installed, update to version 4. Find a you tube video of someone going through the update process so you know what to expect from the screen prompts and sequence of updating your hardware.

Out of the box, ignore all of the other preset programs except Deus Fast (for now). It is only one of two presets that defaults with the silencer filter off (-1) which is an "expert" setting under "reactivity" which is the Deus fancy name for recovery speed on the Deus. Silencer set above -1 or 0, kills depth. Lower the default frequency to 8 or 12, as mentioned above and start swinging.
