The Doors which as of a few years ago were still outselling any rock group
from the sixties. ( a National Record Mart statistic)
Their best music never made the radio, don't just think 'Light My Fire'.
The backround orchestras, their mix of rock, jazz & blues. Way more than head pounding rock. 3 guys who were music majors in college
and the vocals of Morrison. Forget his antics, the music was beyond
anything then . Todays country ain't nuthin but good listening rock & roll.
Lovin Spoonful
early Bee Gees(before disco)
almost any Southern rock(70's to early 80's)

The main reason the Doors are still selling albums is because the band all agree that Morrison's ideas about their music still holds true. You don't see "Light My Fire" being used as the soundtrack for a Bic Lighter Commercial. Their current manager Jeff, is a friend of mine. Morrison would rise from his grave and haunt them forever if they sold out his music!
