Looks like Christmas might be coming early for me this year folks!

I wasn't actually intending on getting any boxes this week; I'm pretty far behind on a bunch of chore-stuff and was going to take a week off to get all caught up. Spur of the moment decision after grabbing some stuff from the store, decided to stop at my bank and get some boxes anyway. Figured I could just put them away and do extra boxes this weekend or next week.
Picked up my penny boxes from the bank and as per usual habit, glanced at both ends of all the rolls after cutting the box open. One box had no enders of any kind; a typical box. The other box had two rolls with wheatie enders, one of which had Wheaties on both ends (these would end up being 1941D, 1956D, and a 1957D). The last time I had 3 wheatie enders in one box was a box back in March, which ended up having 30 wheat pennies total (my all-time record from one box is a 39-wheatie box in July)

In any case, I was expecting a pretty reasonable above-average 15-30 Wheatie box, shelved both boxes for a few days to get other things done.

Settled down this evening to start working through the box with enders.. I have so far opened the first four rolls, and gained 32 wheat pennies (including a 1917, 1919D, 1927, and 1930).
Expectations have risen dramatically.

Update

Box finished. The average of wheat pennies-per-roll dropped steadily throughout the entire box, until the second half of the box had nearly none. By roll #22, I had 90 wheaties. By roll #48, I had 95 wheaties.

Then the very last roll in the box had six. Cutting it pretty close but managed it in the end.

It is 100 Wheaties for a dream box, right? I'm just unsure if the criteria for wheat pennies is different being that Wheaties are somewhat more common than silver bits.

Awesome cull of wheat. Any date breakdown? And it most definitely qualifies as a Dream box. 100 keepers is the threshold.

As far as individual pennies go, not really anything drop-dead-amazing (not that I don't appreciate a good 'oldie or one with a bit of shine to it). I think the 1927S fills a hole in my collection, although I'll have to check that later to be sure. The dream is real and my old record is completely shattered & buried. By a mile the funnest box I've had... probably be a while before I beat this record. I suspect there is probably a fair bit more to this dump in other boxes (what with the wide discrepancy between rolls).. hopefully I'll get lucky and catch some more of it over the next few weeks. Pretty good for a box I wasn't even going to get.

Hope the picture quality is 'acceptable'.. I badly need to get a better light in this room; 40w lamp in one corner just isn't cutting it.

I always think that finding a Wheatie 1939 and BELOW is always a good find. It's not every date to find those below 1940. Sooner or later we won't see ANY WHEATS at all. Congrats again on your finding.
