I went detecting after teaching school today so I only had an hour. I have been detecting in areas that I know will be target rich. I don't want to waste Old areas while I am learning. I was near the basketball courts but now I moved to an open area that is used for our neighborhood to walk, talk and play (approx 3 acres). I start and get 20 feet and get a quarter signal, dig and pull out a quarter. I have learned from here that once you pull it out check for more, a second one about a foot away, another a couple of inches away, and so forth and so on.. It was getting dark so I filled the holes and will return tomorrow as there were still targets. One of the coins was a 1942 wheatie. A COIN SPILL in the making. I really wonder what happens when someone looses change like this and doesn't realize it.
