The more I think about it, the better the idea seems to be.

All wedding licenses, marriage certificates and such, should come with a five year expiration date. At the end of five years, ~poof~ expired - unless renewed. No harm, no foul!

I think people would be nicer to each other if they knew that every five years you had to hope your partner would sign up for another five year wedding agreement.
 

my first one expired after 25 years. my new one is for a life time.
 

My wife and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this year. We have renewal of our vows everynight before we turn out the lights. :wink:
