I woke up yesterday to let the cat out and felt just fine; 3 hours later I had all the symptoms. Unfortunately, I had promised a friend I would help moving appliances, so off I went. Good thing I made it to the bathroom in time, or she would have to clean all over again. Not fun, but I'm feeling better.

Hubby was sick and went to docs last Monday. If the chest x-ray would have shown pnuemonia he would have been a direct admit. His pulse oxygen level at the docs office was only at a 91/92 and it should be between 97 and 100. Did a course of Zithromax, Predisone, Symbicort, and Albuterol in the nebulizer and was feeling better in a couple of days.

Knocking on wood son hasn't been affected since he gets pnuemonia really easy.

The local paper said a man of only 25 years old died of the flu in the Pittsburgh area last week.
So it must be worse on the elderly & the young. Keep those sick away from them .

He also had other medical problems, one of them being MRSA.

I just got over someting but I don't think it was the flu. I just had a bad cold that turned into a sinus infection. Had to take antibiotics for about five days to get rid of it. I can't remember the last time I was prescribed antibiotics for anything. I usually get over colds in about three to fours days, but this last one was a pesky little booger. Hope you all get to feeling better.

I haven't had the flu since 1986. Use to get it every year but I started taking flu shots and so far have been lucky. I also take the pneumonia shot for elderly people, not that I am elderly, just a lot of miles on this old carcas. I have a lung problem and have had pneumonia 5 times in the past 3 years. The flu could be fatal to me so I stay away from anyone who has a hint of being ill. I also wash my hands about 20 times a day and so far that has helped. Hope everyone gets to feeling better.
