"When I was a boy, my Momma would send me down to the corner store with a dollar, and I'd come back with five pounds of potatoes, two loaves of bread, three pints of milk, a pound of cheese, a box of tea, and a half a dozen eggs."

"You can't do that now. Too many freckin' security cameras."

On one trip a few years back we were searching a building that was a general store/powder & supply.
Decided to crawl under it to see if coins etc had been dropped through the floor boards. Discovered it had a basement. Found boxes & boxes of receipts and such. Really cool seeing what prices were. A ham, dozen eggs some onions, and a broom for Momma for $2 & change! Then the reality sets in, that that was probably almost all of that miners pay for the week. Then finding out a handful of the receipts brought us more than the miner probably made in three months.
