public hangings brought a very visual justice lacking today. Seeing how a person dies by hanging definitely prevented some fence sitters from passing over to the dark side of crime.
There is a hanging tree in Big Bear California as well. The tall pine has many limbs missing as after a person was hanged the limb was removed from the tree. Apparently Pine trees have one use limbs? Great story Jeff

Jeff might want to check out the Biggerstaff Hanging Tree in Rutherford, NC where 9 British Loyalists were hung after the battle of Kings Mountain in 1780 during the Revolutionary War

One of the pictures in the article is from a museum. The piece of the tree is dated....October 17,
and Today, October 17 is my birthday!!
