Found along the upper dunes of Lake Michigan and anxiously went home to look it up. Bald Eagle. Speechless.

Congrats on an excellent find. I have found pigeon, duck and goose bands, but that Eagle band would take the cake.
 

While intriguing and an awesome find, the sad part is that the eagle if it was still alive would be around 8 to 9 years old, the lifespan of a Bald Eagle is 20 to 30 years, so that eagle was not even halfway or much less through it's lifespan when it died.

nice find I have found a couple were did you go to look them up Im in maryland I called the # on the band and its no longer any goo

I almost expect that they would at least be calling me. I registered the find on the bird-band Gov website with all my info so they know where to find me if they do :)
 

That is the most epic find of bird bands! Congrats! It is so huge!
