Today’s offering may not be of interest to my friends across the Pond, but I’ll let you decide.

The wireless played a big part in my formative years. In 1951 when just a bairn, I used to curl up on the chair to be literally 'frightened to death' listening to the sepulchral tones of Orson Welles as he introduced yet another story from the Black Museum.

The museum seems interesting.
Also, just last week I listened to Orson Welles original broadcast of "War of the Worlds". That led me to a few BBC "wireless" episodes of Sherlock Holmes. All are entertaining.

I visited it about thirty years ago; the sight of Denis Nilsen's stove still makes me shudder; the case was still very fresh at that time.
