OK... I don't actually hate you-- but Your making US stay inside MDers look bad!!!
Stop it!! ;D
We finally are back to normal temps up here after 22 straight days below normal.
How deep do you think the frost is down after many nights of-20f ??
Nice finds- -but I'll wait till spring!
Congrats Dan :)

ya see...I've got this habit of not letting a little thing like the weather get in the way of the things I enjoy.

4 positives, it is confirmed! Hey Dan, I know where you are headed, you may have done more research than I know. An old timer gave me a tip I will pass to you about the monument, in the old days, silver was plentiful along the sidewalks leading to it. If I have baffled you then PM me and I will explain, you are hunting areas I have researched where I was born and raised but never thought I could hunt, would be great to see the potential of such sites and I look forward to the monument finds. HH, Mike

Hey Dan, I know where you are headed, you may have done more research than I know but, you should have found a small kiddie park in that area as well and the long strips of park have produced well in the early years. Mike-I PMed you but I'll tell you here that I am not sure what you are talking about ???

The area I am hunting (known here as the Iceberg) HAS no sidewalks...or monuments that I know of...but we can go to a chat room and them IM from there.

Thanks for the info on this new site Mike...I'll be sure to check it out this Spring. Even though you know it's been hunted in the past...you know what they say! It's not the arrow it's the Indian ;D

Hey Dan,
My Dad used to dig graves in Wisconsin year round. He used hot water to loosen the ground.
A soup can full would thaw enough dirt to dig a coin .Got an old junk pan to melt snow over a small fire?

Good God, man! I can see that you winter-lovin' people are a breed apart from the likes of myself. And yet, somehow, we both appreciate the finer things in life - like Riley Martin! :D
Seriously, though, thanks for illustrating just how very addicting our hobby can be. If your story doesn't make The Detecting Jones clear, than nothing else does!

Dan the man! You're nuts!

I can wholeheartedly understand the "looking out the window, and looking over at your machine" feeling :D. I feel it all the time.

Offcenter...good to finally see you on the boards! (that's my hunting partner)!
