The maid of an estate had asked for a pay increase and the wife of the place was angry and called her in to talk. "Why do you think you deserve a pay increase?" she asked. The maid replied "Three reasons. First, I am better at ironing clothes than you are."
"How do you know that?" the wife asked.
"Because your husband told me. Second, I am a better cook than you are."
"How do you know that?" the wife again asked.
"Because your husband told me so. And third, I am better in bed than you are."
"Did my husband tell you that?" the wife asked.
"No, it was the gardener. Now how much of a pay increase do you think is fair?"
"How do you know that?" the wife asked.
"Because your husband told me. Second, I am a better cook than you are."
"How do you know that?" the wife again asked.
"Because your husband told me so. And third, I am better in bed than you are."
"Did my husband tell you that?" the wife asked.
