A big tree was uprooted by florence in downtown and I found all these bottles in tje rootsThe blue bottle says the mothers friend, Atlanta ga. The green bottle is 1700s rum bottle I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also nice clear bottle with stopper still inside says jas f Taylor new Berne nc and others

Until I dug my first bottle dump I had no idea how much opium these folks took in the "Victorian" period. I found dozens of bottles of teething syrup and other preparations for hysteria mother's comfort etc. I don't think our's is the first opioid crisis. Some of these folks were getting down in a big way! Course, I guess it's not a crisis if it's legal?
