Fine detecting weather on the field we detect the last weekends. Further away from where we started the finds dry out a bit.
No more early medieval finds but i found a spot with more lead in the afternoon where i hope to get better stuff the next day detecting.

Westfront,

Looks like you had a nice day on the fields; my favorite time of the year is springtime detecting. Good to see that you kept the streak alive; looking forward to seeing you post medieval or Roman silver or gold this year. Good luck with your hunts. Walt

Love the stuff you dig over there

Hi Walt, you're right. Spring is really the best time strolling the fields. Wet soil, the air smells like new, not that hot summer weather with concrete ground...
I hope i get the coil over something good soon, may it be medieval or roman. Celtic is long ago too. :occasion14:

Congratulations on your recovery

Seems pretty good to me.
I know that feeling at the moment, I'm just looking for lead as a good sign & it might spur me to grid, but it's just not happening yet. At least you have a hopeful spot & getting a few bits along the way....

Very nice results from the hunt. Congrats

What is the broken hammered, it looks real fragile?

It's a milled coin, made of billon. So not really a silver coin. I count them still. With the high copper share these thin coins are prone to break. This came halfway folded and broke when i tried to remove the lump of dirt it was sticking in.
