IMG_0681.webpIMG_0682.webp I had some time before work on Saturday morning and I had planned to hunt a small park where a couple of weeks ago I dug three silver coins. When I got there the park had chains across the entrance and a sign stating that the park was closed until further notice. With that, I went to a nearby sports field that has a baseball diamond and a soccer field and was still open so I hit the soccer field. Finds were OK....21 coins worth $4.08 and some odd ball items including the Japanese 50 yen coin. I have no idea of the date but my reference book says that the variety I have was first minted in 1967.

Plan B was a good hunting day for you! :occasion14:

We are all having to develop Plan B's during this crazy virus hysteria.
Your's was a winner Clad! Not a bad hunt at all and your penny-to-quarter
ratio is way better than mine! Good on 'ya!

Nicely done Ed,, slowly but surely you are building up your clad to silver numbers.
Congratulations

A well-executed Plan B- Congrats!

Thanks pyrogort…..crazy hysteria is definitely what it is, so plan "B"s are going to be part of the game from now on. The quarter ratio is always pretty good because I ignore zincs.

Congratulations
Thanks Kevin.....are you getting out to hunt much these days?

A well-executed Plan B- Congrats!
Thanks Jeff.....it worked out OK and was better than heading in with no hunt.

Nice finds !

That's a rule I always follow myself - have a plan B !
It's always better to have a second site in mind before you leave home - just in case the first site's a dud for some reason - land owner not home, flooded, just got posted, etc.

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, please let me know if there is another thread.
I’m looking for places to metal detect in the mid Hudson Valley. I in New Paltz area of Ulster County. I am brand new to this and can’t wait to get started.

Not the right place......on the home page go to "General Discussions".

Thanks...….plan "B"s are always a good idea and I always have one but with public areas being shut down it's a must.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Looks like plan B worked out pretty well for you.
