The first 3.5 hrs we spent finishing the Potato Field & trying some nearby grassland. It was pretty much a bust, as we had found no recordables. (ie. things we GPS).
Out of desperation Cru'dad decided to take us to the small 1/2 acre game strip in the Copse Field.(That we gridded in 1 hr 45 mins) This is where he had a couple of scrappies from on Weds. Conditions were perfect; rolled flat with the corn just starting to show & the ground still damp underneath. His first coin find was what he thought was a big deep piece of lead, until the lump got smaller & smaller & turned into Silver! This was one of Cru'dads best digs with the new (My old) GMP, so its starting to pay off. We ended up with 7 Roman Bronze Coins & a Roman Bezel of a Child's Ring.

You know it's unbelievable. What a nice late Silver! Some of these Siliquia i like more then Denarii. Simply beautiful coins. Pulling one on a game strip in JUNE :laughing9: makes it look easy. Congrats to Crudad and to "the Team" having the best June ever!

may the 'streak' continue !!:occasion14:

Yep..just a nasty chunk of worthless lead, ship it my way, I'll dispose of it properly, lol. Wow...1st? century Roman silver!? Cru Dad is killing it! BEAUTIFUL coin...absolutely awesome...Congrats! Ddf

We laugh a lot to ourselves about how easy we make it look!

This game strip has been hammered by us over the years, which makes it even more surprising. Each time I cover it, I think, I don't want to go back there again, there will be nothing left!

I'm not sure what our best Roman Silver June is, but Cru'dad mentioned 3 in one of our June's. But I'm more than happy with just this one!
