It's that time of year in Yorkshire. All ploughed land is now under crop. So this time of year I set myself a challenge. Simply to find enough modern silver coins, to weigh in. The point being to put a goose and a couple of bottles of decent wine on the Christmas dinner table, for my family to enjoy. I do this by searching local woods and parks, and even grass verges. Hope I'm not tempting fate, but I've not failed yet. As for recent old finds, a fantastic medieval silver seal (sorry can't post pics) and a very rare badge of Richard 11. this is a pic of my Christmas dinner searches so far. I will post how I go on in my quest in a month or so.
