That is one huge tree. I'd like to see it in person. Several years ago we spent a night at a B&B in penn. that had a stump in their front yard that was 6 feet or so in diameter. The people that owned it when we were there had bought the place a few years before and that tree was still growing but was getting to be dangerous because of huge branches falling. They had records that came with the house that showed that George Washington and some of the important people
of his time had tied their horses at the hitch rail under that tree while they had meetings and ate meals there. With so
much history involved with that tree they did not want to just burn it. Instead they had a large dining table made with
the wood. The top was one solid piece, 4 feet wide by 8 feet long and 3 inches thick. It was very beautiful with a clear
finish and unique grain pattern. Can't remember what kind of wood it was. The wood that was left after making the table
was used to make a complete set of chairs.
