I hear that everyone that has a permit to work a wreck must have an archaeologist "overseeing" the operation. According to the state, what qualifications must the archaeologist have to become eligible for that task? I've been searching myflorida.com but came up with nothing.
Thanks,
Matt

contact the state of florida -- rule A1 31:030 -- is in reveiw ---this matter was debated by me quite recently during the recent state rule changes as to exactly what groups and certificates one needs to be "one of the boys"--since the group that the state "certified" had recently changed their by laws to state that no member of their group could work for "for profiet groups" ie salvors(to do so means they get kicked out and are no longer a member of the "approved" group) --thus salvors in effect could not hire "certified" archies to work for them since once they were "hired"( they got "kicked" out of the "approved" group*) --thus it made for a legally impossible to comply with "catch 22" that requies a "certified archie to sign off that they will work on the permit" and made it so salvors could never get a permit. (which is clearly illegal to "knowingly" set up that way)

its like saying they will only issue permits to 12 foot tall people ---get real folks.

I raised that exactly that point at the meetings , its in the records .

currently the "requirements" are under reveiw --see rule A1 31.030 *

uh the requirements are currently under "review" --see rule A1 -31.030

Sounds like a mess but A1-31.0012 looks pretty straight forward. "Federal Register Vol. 48, No. 190, p. 44739, or subsequent official version" is evading me...
Thanks
