The STOLTZENBERG Co. N.Y.

[halfdime]

A little bigger around than a quarter, I found this brass item at an old church site where I've found lots of old coins (mostly Indians). There is a hole in the middle; sitting flat it's about a half inch high. Around the hole is the following text: The STOLTZENBERG Co N.Y. Any ideas? I've googled this information and not found any real answers.

The Stoltzenberg Co. was located at 51 Barclay Street, NY. The company specialized in "ecclesiastical works of art and church goods". Their store featured "a large assortment of Statues, Vestments, albs, surplices, laces, brass and silverware........" Perhaps your item is brass??

I found the same sort of info as previously posted. They sold stuff to decorate churches - everything from alters to statues to stained glass windows. All the references were from the turn of the 20th century.

Is it a knob or a roller of some type?
