Went for a drive the other day, down a dirt road that follows an old stage road.

I had to take a picture of a tree with a will to survive.

Neat pic, it probably won't get very big. :-\

Fossis..............

Yeah, but someday that little old tree might grow up and split that big old rock plum in half. I feel like that, somedays. Not so much anymore, but every once in a while.

Pretty dang neat :icon_thumleft:

Yes mam,
That is persistance.

Thanks for showing these Beth,
They should lend us all a bit of hope.

I like that picture. I like what it represents most of all. Thank you for sharing.

reminds of the disco song --staying alive , staying alive :headbang:

Oh, that's granite. Here we have cedars and oaks busting up huge sandstone boulders all the time, everywhere. a beautiful sight. So dramatic and full of energy, but not moving to the human eye. A tree growing in granite is a little different than one conquering sandstone. Thanks for the pic, I'll remember it.

Naturegirl,

You are right on - it is a boulder of granite - that's what really impressed me also!

Nature is unbelievable, like in the Jurassic Park comment, mother nature finds a way.
