Hi all,
After digging up close to 2,000 clad Roosevelts over the years, I always knew what I had until today. I dug up this strange looking dime today in a church field..As soon as I dug it up I knew there was something really different about it..the patina is unusual and it seems way too shiney to be a normal dime, but doesn't have the "white" look of older silver dimes I've found. I also can't find any trace of copper coloring on its edge.
I thought it might be a silver proof, but the only silver Rosies that I know of are the 1995-S variety, and they're only available in proof sets.
My red book of coin values has no mention of a silver 1995-D Roosevelt dime. If anyone has any info on this strange looking dime, please let me know! Thanks in advance.
